My Diamond Buying Experience
I just received my diamond engagement ring today from Mondera. I wanted to thank you guys for making it such a great experience. It is astonishingly beautiful. I feel really lucky that I found Mondera very early in my research on diamonds. I looked at your prices and selections and used that as a baseline for my comparisons. I thought I would find something locally that could compare — I didn’t. One local jeweler offered me a 0.52 carat, H colour, VS1 clarity with medium-good cut for 4800$ and showed me an appraisal for the same ring for 8200$. I was not impressed, since I found a 0.52 carat, F colour, VS1 clarity, Excellent/Ideal cut for 1800$ here. They didn’t have a GIA or AGS certificate to go with it either.
The best I could find here was Spence diamonds. They taught me about the 4 C’s and showed me several diamonds under 10x magnification to see differences between clarity, and under special lighting to see differences between colour. It would have been impressive if I had not gotten the same information in more depth from your website; not to mention at a more comfortable pace.
Even though I told them when I came in that I was not putting any money down today, after the tour, they showed me two diamonds and tried to pressure me to put a deposit of 1000$ that very moment. I had to choose from a 0.59 carat, VS1 clarity, F colour, excellent cut and a 0.73 carat, H colour, SI1 clarity, excellent cut. It was not a difficult decision from there to take the 0.83 carat, VS2, F colour, excellent cut from Mondera that was priced better than either of those two diamonds.
I would especially like to thank Kevin in the customer service department for putting up with my frequent calls just to ask if everything was going okay. He also called me several times just to tell me things were fine. I will be sending all my friends here and coming back for wedding bands this summer.

I did purchase a loose diamond but for a pendant. No one offers pre-made pendants with pear cut diamonds. I also purchased a pendant (and chain) to set the diamond in. The pendant arrived today and it is gorgeous!
As for the prices of your loose diamonds, I did research on several sites as well as visiting retailers and I believe that Mondera offers excellent values on loose diamonds (especially in the size range that I was interested in) as well as an impressive range of color, clarity, carat, and cuts. In the price range that I used to search Mondera.com, most other sites did not offer certified diamonds in the same color, clarity or cut. I am now considering a pendant in another cut and will definitely shop Mondera’s diamond inventory in making my decision.Customer Service also made sure that I received my new pendant on Friday instead of Monday. I wanted to thank Mondera for the service and professional consultation they provided during my recent $16,000 diamond purchase. To be honest I knew very little about diamonds when I started the search for the perfect diamond. But as I viewed more diamonds, I realized that brilliance was what I was really after, followed by size, color, and finally clarity. I was worried buying a ring overseas and over a website. However as the USD$ being worth 2 to the £1, and the pricing being so competitive, I purchased the ring. I didn’t have to worry. After wiring the funds the ring came in super quick time. As in 24 hours. The payment of VAT and Excise was made very easy by Fed Ex.
I have a friend who works for a jewellers who offered me a big discount for a diamond however I still went to Mondera. The amount of money I have saved is incredible. The ring was brought for £4700 including VAT and Excise. Its valued at £12,500 OVER DOUBLE.
I had to get it valued as no one would believe how much I paid for it. The ring itself is exceptional, the diamond is flawless, E colourless, being 1.17 and ideal cut. Its cut beautifully and the ring setting shows off the princess cut really well.
I noted high street stalls were selling for the same price a very yellow colour, 1 carat, with very poor quality (SI). Some not even certified (top high street stores). I am amazed on the pricing and service and will use you again in future. The 20% VAT & Excise didn’t make a dent.
I recommend every buyer from Europe to look at your easy viewing website before being ripped off in the UK. I did only see one cheaper place in the UK to get a similar diamond (round shape but very similar) but that was still £8,000 and £3,300.

When I received the diamond and setting, it looked absolutely stunning. I am not anywhere close to being an expert on diamonds, but this 1.06 carat rock with a color D and Brilliant cut rating by GIA was very impressive.
I took it to an appraiser who was also very impressed. His market-value calculations actually put the diamond and setting above the price I paid for it. The diamond met all of the specifications listed in the accompanying GIA report.
When I proposed to my girlfriend, she accepted (yeah!) and was floored by the ring. Everyone who has seen it is amazed at this diamond. Its like you can’t take your eyes off of it. And, of course, the rings beauty was enhanced exponentially when I placed it on her finger.

I’ve been wearing the engagement ring my fiance and I picked out from Mondera for over 6 months now. I still get so many compliments on it that I just had to write! We weren’t sure about pairing a 1 ct round diamond with 2/3 ct side stones, but they look wonderful together, especially with the platinum band. Just like the picture! I recently purchased a diamond and a setting for it from Mondera. It took me 8 days to get it and I was getting anxious as I had my (then hopefully) soon to be wife waiting for me to pop the question. Well I relayed my rush to Mondera, the people of which really did me good. I received free overnight shipping because of my time constraint. I received the diamond as expected – it was stunning. Still sceptical I took it to a local jeweller who inspected it for a good 15 mins after which came the verdict: ” how much did you pay? where did you get it from?” and most importantly: “this is one of the most beautiful diamonds I have ever seen”. I was elated beyond belief – not to mention happy. I knew I had a deal here – I just didn’t quite know good of a deal, before I went through the four ‘C’s of diamonds and the every place under the sun who sells diamonds. I received a call at my place of employment to verify the shipping address. I really appreciate someone taking the time to do so. Since my billing address is a PO box, many times I must have purchases shipped to my place of business. First of all, I was in search of the perfect Yellow Gold earrings for my mother-in-law, a very picky gift recipient. After hitting all the local stores, I did a Google search and found Mondera. After about 30 minutes browsing their site, I settled on a pair of Yellow Gold Genuine Mozambique Garnet Earrings. They looked beautiful on their website, but you never know until you get them!

There are many, many things that I want to say to the people of Mondera, but let me start out by just saying that I am one satisfied customer. It all began when I noticed your jewelry ad. It was a Friday afternoon about lunchtime (December 16th) and I was able to log onto your web site and place the order for the sterling silver ring of my choice. I was then surprised to receive e-mails to my account detailing the transaction. My only hope was that it would be delivered before Christmas. Obviously, I got busy with work related issues and pretty much forgot about the sterling silver ring order for now. But of course, your folks there were busy doing all they could do to get that ring packaged up and sent to the customer. Little did I know (or didn’t really pay attention) that the ring would be delivered —– PRONTO!!!!!! At about 1 PM on Saturday (the 17th of December), which of course was the very next day, I would have the ring and my message delivered via FEDEX, to my front door. I’ve ordered my share of things in the mail over my time, but NEVER have I received a product the next day. I have to say that I am VERY impressed. I ordered an engagement ring (solitaire diamond on a platinum setting) about 2 weeks back and am due to travel tonight. As soon as I had placed the order, I realized that the shipping date would be after my date of travel! (Mainly because of time required to put the ring together). Shopping for an engagement ring at Mondera.com
After years of putting off shopping for an engagement ring, I finally decided to do so this Christmas. After looking in local shops, I was positively astounded by the prices. My sister suggested I look on line at Mondera.com and at Ashford, among others. After hours and hours of research, I found a platinum setting that was both very reasonably priced and attractive at Mondera.com. There are many atrocious platinum settings out there, but Mondera has simple and elegant ones, with high quality side stones.
Finding the right diamond for the main stone was the second step. Again I compared and contrasted stones at the different web sites trying to find comparable diamonds so that I could compare prices. In looking at Ashford I found stones that seemed much more expensive than at Mondera.com. When I tried to email them to discuss the differences, I got comments like “don’t focus on the specs, just focus on how the diamond makes you feel.”…Little did he appreciate that while he was surrounded by diamonds that made him feel all tingley, I had a two dimensional representation of a diamond that wasn’t even the actual diamond, just a generic picture. I felt nothing.
Having only the specifications that the GIA certificates document, I finally chose a very high quality stone to put in my elegant platinum setting. Since it was just two weeks before Christmas, the final ordering was a bit of a rush. The associate who walked me through the whole process was exceptionally helpful. We were in close email contact all through the process. After I received the ring and found that I had ordered a size too big, they were also very prompt about resizing it and returning it to me just as soon as possible.
Each time the ring left their premises, it went through an independent appraisal to confirm the the center stone was the very one I had paid for. This of course if a very reassuring thing, since buying a diamond on line is full of doubts. Overall I was very satisfied with my experience there. The appraisal they got also confirmed that I had paid two thousand dollars less than a retail store.

I also checked Epinions as well as the Better Business Bureau. Any issue regarding Mondera were minor Customer Service issues that were eventually resolved.
Once the order was placed they called me to confirm that all the info was correct…esp the different shipping address.
Then, the order was shipped a week SOONER than they had told me. It just arrived in time for Valentine’s Day!
Everything was EXACTLY the way I had ordered it and as it was presented on the web site.

Quality diamond rings at 20% – 30% (easily) below retail
I recently ordered my diamond ring and wedding band at Mondera.com. My fiance’ then knew how picky I can be with jewelries and decided to leave it all to me, which I am forever grateful. I had compared loose diamonds, engagement ring settings & diamond wedding bands at reputable websites like Bluenile.com, Uniondiamond.com and a few other ones listed on Pricescope.com (this website is very helpful, and shall you decide to go with other online jewelers, you can get a better price through pricescope). The determining point for selecting Mondera over other jewelers is simply because I found a diamond with the combination of the 5Cs (5th one being “cost”) that I have in mind. It was not an easy task because little imperfection specs on the diamond can bother me. The quality and price on Mondera is excellent and a little better than bluenile or uniondiamond. My overall comments about Mondera.com & online diamond shopping are:
1.Yes for online Jewelery shopping if saving you 20 – 30% from retail has a significant value (some people hate the hassle). I used a GIA certified diamond broker to locate similar loose diamond found on Mondera.com, but he couldn’t beat the price, not even within $500 difference.
2.No if your time is running short. Mondera.com’s ordering process can be further enhanced by using more email communications. They didn’t process my wedding band order because I have a different ship to address and they couldn’t get a confirmation from me. If you are going to be traveling and your time is running short, ordering a ring online can be very stressful. In my case, if my husband has extra $2,000 to spare, maybe I would not have ordered my rings online.
3.Yes if you like to have more selections, even sometimes the chosen one may not be in stock. Local stores I went to didn’t even have the diamond grade I’m looking for (hearts & arrows ideal cut, E – H, VVS1 – VS2 for under $6000). You don’t have to worry that the sales people being impatient when you shop online.
Overall, I would recommend Mondera.com if you place the value of getting a discounted high quality diamond ring over the hassle of having to do extra homework and dealing with a few unexperienced/unskilled sales people at Mondera. I’m very happy with my purchase, but I just don’t think online diamond ring shopping is for everyone.

I found Mondera.com through a search on dogpile.com. I’d done a tremendous amount of diamond research/homework, and knew exactly what I was looking for (GIA certified, 1.5 carat, Color J, Clarity VS2, etc.) I found it quickly with mondera.com’s diamond search engine.
At first I was skeptical/nervous about buying a diamond engagement ring online. But after reading mondera.com’s return policy and speaking with their customer support team (very helpful) on a couple of different occasions, I decided to order the ring.
